PURPOSE:
This training is being presented as a result
of partnering efforts with the Associated Builders and Contractors
(ABC), Associated General Contractors (AGC), the U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers (USACE), and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command
(NAVFAC). The purpose of this course is to familiarize
contractor personnel with USACE and NAVFAC Construction Quality
Management concepts and procedures.

SPECIAL GUIDANCE:
Under the
revised requirements of
Section 01 45 01.00 QUALITY CONTROL, it is mandatory that this course be
successfully completed to be approved as the contractor’s quality
control manager.
NOTES:
1. Currently, the
Galveston District will be conducting 1 day CQM for Contractors
training in a traditional classroom setting. Students
who successfully complete the mandatory requirements of this
course will be issued a Certificate, which will be valid for
5 years from date of issuance at Corps of Engineers and Navy
construction projects.
2. Class size may be restricted to 35 students, depending
on class location. Any class is subject to cancellation
if there are less than 10 confirmed students within 2 weeks
of the scheduled date of the class. Student priority will
be given to those students who are working on present contracts
within the Southwestern Division.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Complete the
CQM Registration
Form and email to alton.h.meyer@usace.army.mil.
The Registration Form must be received by close of business 1
week prior to class. Alternately, you may fax your filled
in signup form to 1-409-766-6321 to the "Attention of CQM
For Contractors instructor".
2. There will be no charge for courses taught in the
Galveston District Office. Courses taught at other locations
in coordination with the AGC of Texas may have administrative
charges assessed by the AGC.
3. Students need to download
the Student Study Guide materials from this web site
(above) and either bring a printed copy of the materials to
the class or they may have it saved on their business or personal
laptop computer for use during instruction. Additional training
materials not available on-line may be provided during instruction.
No internet access nor electricity will be provided for personal
computers during this training. Students must download the class
workbook from the web and print and put in a notebook, and bring
to class. Also bring pens, highlighters, etc as none will be
provided.
4. Upon successful completion of the course, attendance
in all training sessions and obtaining a passing grade of at
least 70 on the Post Test, the student will be provided
a Certificate. Certificates from a 1 day class will
not provide any Continuing Education Units (CEU's).
5. Students will be required to arrive at the 2000 Ft. Point Road
(Galveston) control gate between 0730 and 0755 hrs only. No
gate guard will be on duty days at times other than this.

6. To enter the facility, come in the main entrance (from the
north (large) parking lot), show the guard your ID card (i.e.:
drivers license, ID card, etc) to enter through the fence gate
at the guard shack. Enter the building, show your ID again and
then turn left past the elevators. Room 175 is located several
doors down on the right.
7. Students MUST arrive in the classroom no later than 0800
hrs. If you don’t, you’ll be turned away and will be
required to reschedule in a future class.
8. Restrooms and drinking fountains are located on the first
floor, not far from the classroom. Expect each module video
and discussion to last about 50 minutes each hour; there will
be a 10 minute break each hour.
9. During breaks, you may go to the rest room, or to the cafeteria
and snack machines. You must stay visually monitored by a COE
guard or class instructors at all times.
