RIVER RESTRIONS DUE TO HIGH WATER
Due to watershed of the Brazos River and current speeds inexcess of 2 mph, River Restrictions are currently in effect.
Commercial vessels requesting passage are restricted to 1 loaded barge or 2 empty barges per pass.
Constrution will not be performed while under River Restrictions.

Directions From Houston - Take HWY 288 South from downtown Houston. When entering Lake Jackson, Texas make sure you stay in the left lane. HWY 228 will split just south of Lake Jackson after the Whataburger in Clute. Proceed in the left lane into Freeport, TX. You will pass the old Brazos River at the Police station, then the high school, and finally an elementary school. Get in right lane at the elementary school. When you see the HWY 36 bridge you should begin looking for a right turn prior to the bridge. Go up the levee and follow the levee road until you arrive at the Floodgates.
