WALLISVILLE, Texas -- USACE Galveston District Natural Resource Specialist Brandon Moehrle picks up an abandoned crab trap at the Wallisville Lake Project. Moerhle and two other Galveston Park Rangers collected more than a dozen abandoned crab traps, which can entrap and kill aquatic and terrestrial wildlife. The traps also pose a threat to recreational boaters on the lake by damaging their outboard motors. The crab trap round-up is just one of the many ways USACE promotes environmental stewardship, regulates waterways, and manages natural resources.
