WALLISVILLE, Texas -- USACE Galveston District Natural Resource Specialists Mark Tyson (left) and Brandon Moehrle collect abandoned crab traps at the Wallisville Lake Project. Abandoned crab traps can entrap and kill aquatic and terrestrial wildlife and also pose a threat to recreational boaters on the lake by damaging their outboard motors. The crab trap round-up is just one of the many ways USACE promotes environmental stewardship, regulates waterways, and manages natural resources.
