U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District employees gather around their computer and tune in to the District's Women's History Month observance. This year’s theme, chosen by the National Women’s History Alliance, is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.” As such, Galveston’s Equal Employment Opportunity Office chose author, teacher, and licensed minister Kimberley Yancy as the guest speaker for the event. Yancy is also the first African-American woman to be elected to a district council seat in the history of the city of La Marque, Texas.
