GALVESTON, Texas (May 7, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District was recognized with a Gold Award from the 2013 Hermes Creative Awards competition for its Corps Cares: Congressional Report.

“This report is an excellent publication that outlines all authorized studies, construction projects and operations and maintenance efforts in each congressional district within our area of responsibility,” said Col. Christopher W. Sallese, USACE Galveston District commander. “It is a great reference document that enables the public to become familiar with projects in their communities and informs them of how their taxpayers’ dollars are being spent.”

The annual reports are distributed electronically to community leaders and congressional representatives, including both Texas and Louisiana senators and are posted on the USACE Galveston District’s website http://1.usa.gov/152NhSj.
