  • District partners with Galveston Park Board to launch Sand Management Cost Shared Study

    GALVESTON, Texas (Nov. 21, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District partnered with the Galveston Park Board of Trustees to launch the implementation of the Sand Management Cost Shared Study today. The district and the Galveston Park Board of Trustees pursued a sand management cost-shared study following the establishment of a partnership last year to develop a science-based sand management strategy that could potentially prevent erosion of the island’s shoreline and reduce the long-term cost of beach maintenance.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Nov. 13, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a contract to Sol Engineering LLC, an 8(a) small business, in the amount of $49,220.82 for environmental services to include chemical and grain size analyses of water and sediment samples from the federally-maintained Houston Ship Channel.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 31, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a contract in the amount of $178,798.11 to Quaternary Resource Investigations LLC for routine soil sampling and laboratory testing at the Alexander Island Dredge Material Placement Area adjacent to the Houston Ship Channel.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $547,000 to RLB Contracting, a woman-owned small business, for an oyster restoration project located within the northernmost extent of the Half Moon Reef in Matagorda Bay, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a contract in the amount $1,369,515.74 to Integris Projects LLC (a Small Business Administration 8(a) contractor), for dewatering of the Alexander Island Placement Area relating to the Houston Ship Channel in Harris County, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $5,034,950 to Orion Marine Construction Inc.,to dredge the High Island to Bolivar Flare portions of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) in Texas.
