    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 31, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded a contract in the amount of $178,798.11 to Quaternary Resource Investigations LLC for routine soil sampling and laboratory testing at the Alexander Island Dredge Material Placement Area adjacent to the Houston Ship Channel.
  • USACE Galveston District partners with USCG to save time and money

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 23, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District partnered with the U.S. Coast Guard to provide maintenance dredging, construction oversight, environmental coordination and hydrographic surveying services for nine USCG stations located along the Texas coast, increasing navigation safety while saving taxpayers thousands of dollars annually.
  • Regulatory Office Reopened Oct. 16 (following announcment of closure Oct. 15)

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 15, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District announced today that it will close its Regulatory Branch Office due to the absence of available federal funding. Regulatory staff will be unable to evaluate individual permit applications, pre-construction notifications (PCNs) for nationwide permits (NWP) or regional general permit authorizations, or requests for jurisdictional determinations until after current year funding is received and the office reopens.
  • USACE Galveston District awards $974,950 small business contract for mooring buoys

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 7, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount $974,950 to Marine Fenders International Inc., (a small business contractor), for 50 mooring buoys, which will be installed along the Texas section of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 7, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount $1,172,000 to Inland Construction & Engineering Inc.,(a certified small disadvantaged business and HUBZone contractor), to install impressed current cathodic protection systems at the Colorado River Locks in Matagorda, Texas.
  • USACE Galveston District modifies operations during government shutdown

    GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 1, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District will modify its operations beginning today as a result of the federal government shutdown for lack of fiscal 2014 funding legislation.
