    GALVESTON, Texas (Dec. 17, 2014) – The Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) marked an important milestone today, joining its federal partner – the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District – in signing key agreements for major flood damage reduction projects in the White Oak and Hunting Bayou watersheds.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Dec. 11, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, awarded three contract options in the amount of $4.3 million to Orion Marine Construction Inc. for dredging of additional reaches of the Matagorda Ship Channel in Matagorda and Calhoun counties, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Dec. 8, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District hosted more than 150 professionals during the Levee Safety Community of Practice Workshop Dec. 1-4 to discuss the program’s progress and how the risk framework has developed; review changes to policy and guidance documents; provide updates to partners and to facilitate an open forum to discuss program successes and challenges.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Dec. 1, 2014) – For the last five months, Diane Kovacevich has filled the role of a management analysis officer, processing personnel actions for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District Resource Management Office, maintaining integrated manning documents and submitting reports – all new tasks that she readily accepted in her 40th year of service to help fill a gap in her office, proving that it’s never too late to learn something new regardless which stage people are at in their careers.
