Full Public Notice    Project Plans

The applicant proposes to construct two 18- to 24-inch rock breakwaters, along a 3.3-mile section of the northern bank of the GIWW.  Approximately 25,848 cubic yards of graded riprap will be utilized for construction of the breakwaters.  The base of the breakwater will be approximately 20 feet wide and will be placed 10 to 150 feet from the existing eroded bank.  The purpose of proposing two separate breakwaters is to allow natural tidal flushing and recreational boat traffic.
