Galveston District co-hosts regional dialogue session
As an important part of the national Marine Transportation System (MTS)
initiative begun in the spring of 1998, regional dialogue sessions have provided
those involved with the marine transportation system an opportunity to
receive a status report on federal MTS activities, to discuss means to
effectively engage regional stakeholders in the MTS, and to offer a forum in
which stakeholders can communicate their needs and concerns on MTS-related
issues. The seventh and final regional dialogue session was held 17-18 July
2000 at the J.W. Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 5150 Westheimer Road,
Houston, TX. Host agencies for the session included the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers, U.S. Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,
U.S. Maritime Administration, and Environmental Protection Agency.
