Construction closes main entrance at USACE, Galveston District

GALVESTON, TX. - Construction on new security measures for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District has closed the main entrance, diverting entry to gates on Ferry Road.

During construction, district employees and visitors will be routed through the Fort Point entrance, just before the ferry terminal entrance on Ferry Road. Traffic to the Corps must remain in the far right lane. This will be the entrance and exit until construction is completed. Several signs have been strategically placed at the intersection of Ferry Road and Fort Point Road and at the Fort Point entrance. Please be on lookout for these brown-colored signs.

Construction is scheduled to be completed Sept. 30.

The Fort Point reservation has been home to the Galveston District since the construction of the Jadwin building in 1993.
