BOBBER and the Safe Kids Greater Houston Water Safety Team

     Encourage families and communities to stay safe in the water.  Adults and kids should

  • Learn to swim,
  • Learn CPR, and
  • Wear life jackets when near or around large bodies of water

     This is a reminder for parents to always watch their children!!

Mission

Our mission is to consolidate and integrate existing Water Safety initiatives, promote an increase in water safety awareness, and to prevent drowning. We are dedicated to advancing, promoting, and providing water safety interpretation, outreach, and education.

Texas requires those under 13 years of age to wear a PFD while underway. 

Personal Flotation Devices: Currently both Federal and Texas laws require every person under 13 years of age to wear a USCG approved PFD while the vessel is underway, regardless of vessel length. PWC operators and passengers must wear an approved Type I, II, III or V PFD. Required PFDs must be readily accessible.
