PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The applicant proposes to decommission-in-place 12-inch oil PSN 8585 located in water depth of approximately 600 feet.  In accordance with the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) 30 CFR 250.1750 pipeline decommissioning requirements, the applicant proposes to:  1) disconnect from previously serviced GC 52 CPP; 2) flush by pigging and filling with seawater to equalize the line pressure; 3) remove 20-foot section of pipeline upstream from the SSTI and plug; 4) remove the pipeline deck to jacket location and tube turn at GC 52 CPP and plug; and 5) confirm depth of cover at the pipeline ends and cover endpoints with protective sand/cement bags.  Jetting will be used to expose pipeline riser endpoints and allow pipe “cold cuts.”  The applicant’s plans are enclosed in 14 sheets.
