To sustain the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a premier organization in developing small businesses and maximizing their opportunities to participate in our procurements, thereby ensuring a broad base of capable suppliers to support the Corps of Engineers mission and strengthen our nation’s economic development.

Small Business Office

USACE Galveston District supports the government’s policy of placing a fair proportion of district contracts with qualified small, small disadvantaged, women-owned, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran owned and historically Black College and Universities/minority institutions. We consider small business to be the heart of the U.S. economy and a very vital part of the Corps’ procurement process.

Getting Started

If you are interested in doing business with the Galveston District, or responding to a contract solicitation from us, the first thing you need to have is our Department of Defense Activity Address Code, commonly called the DODAAC: DW912HY.

Once you have our DODAAC, the best place to start the process is the Procurement Technical Assistance Center or PTAC. The primary function of the PTAC is to help you wade through all the red tape of registration and figure out how to find opportunities that suit what your small business has to offer. PTAC will give you the one-on-one attention you need to be successul -- and best of all, the service is free!
