    Expiration date: 7/9/2012

    The applicant owns Lot 1 and will be constructing 129 linear feet of a proposed bulkhead along their property line. The applicant proposes to jointly construct with the owner of Lot 2 (SWG-2011-01115) a 169-linear-foot bulkhead along the property lines of Lot 2 and Lot 1 in the Northwoods Subdivision for a footprint of 0.19 acre into Lake Livingston. Approximately 224 cubic yards of fill material will be placed behind the bulkhead. The bulkhead configuration and placement is limited by the various property lines existing along the shoreline of Lake Livingston.

    The applicant proposes to discharge 329,794 cubic yards of fill material into 40.677 acres of forested, scrub shrub, and emergent wetlands and 2,589 linear feet of stream during the construction of a 12.1-mile new location controlled access road with intermittent frontage roads and associated facilities within a 400-foot right of way (ROW) between SH 249 and IH 45.
  • MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, GALVESTON DISTRICT AND JEFFERSON COUNTY DRAINAGE DISTRICT NO. 7 PURSUANT TO SECTION 214 WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000

    This Public Notice announces the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District (“Corps”) and the Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7 (“DD No. 7”) to transfer funds pursuant to Section 214 of the Water Resources Development Act of 2000. The Galveston District will allocate funds internally and distribute funds to supporting Corps Districts in order to expedite the Department of Army processing of DD No. 7 proposed modifications in accordance with 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408), subject to a series of limitations specified below.
  • Updated National Wetland Plant List

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Galveston District, announces the availability of the updated National Wetland Plant List (NWPL). The NWPL plays a critical role in wetland determinations under the Clean Water Act and Food Security Act. Wetlands are evaluated using three parameters – soils, hydrology and vegetation. Using sampling protocols outlined in the Regional Supplements to the 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual, the indicator status is then used to determine whether the vegetation parameter is met.
