PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The applicant proposes to modify a previously authorized barge slip by constructing 860-linear-foot of new bulkhead around an existing inlet off of the Houston Ship Channel/Buffalo Bayou.  Approximately 2,500 cubic yards of material is proposed to be discharged to back fill behind the new bulkhead.  Additionally, the applicant proposes to mechanically and/or hydraulically dredge approximately 30,000 cubic yards of material to a depth of 30 feet below mean low tide (MLT) from the current depth of 12 feet below MLT.  The applicant also proposes to modify the previous authorization by adding seven existing dredged material placement areas to their authorization.  The seven areas to be added as dredged material placement options are:  1) House Tract, 2) East West Clinton, 3) Targa, 4) East West Jones, 5) Glanville Pinto, 6) Kirby, and 7) HMS.  The dredged material for this project is proposed to be placed in one of the 10 placement areas listed on the project plans.  The preferred placement areas are either Kirby or Lost Lake as they are the closest placement areas to the project site.
