MATAGORDA, Texas (July 30, 2019) Robert George, Colorado River Locks lockmaster, discusses the importance of the navigational mission with Galveston District commander Col. The Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in Texas is 423 miles long and has two sets of floodgates at the intersection of the Brazos River (Brazos River East and West Floodgates) and two locks where it intersects the Colorado River.
