WALLISVILLE, Texas -- USACE Galveston Natural Resource Specialist Brandon Moehrle frees a live crab from an abandoned crab trap at the Wallisville Lake Project. Abandoned crab traps can entrap and kill aquatic and terrestrial wildlife and also pose a threat to recreational boaters on the lake by damaging their outboard motors. The crab trap round-up is just one of the many ways USACE promotes environmental stewardship, regulates waterways, and manages natural resources.
