Orange County Project Executive Governance Meeting
ORANGE, Texas (Feb. 22, 2023) Col. Rhett Blackmon, Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District, speaks during an executive governance meeting for the Orange County Project portion of the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay (S2G) Coastal Storm Risk Management Program at the Orange County Drainage District office. The meeting included a presentation and discussion hosted by the USACE Orange County Project Manager Sheila McCarthy, as non-federal sponsors and stakeholders were present and shared in the discussion. To increase the resiliency of the upper Texas coast, the S2G Program was established by USACE and its non-Federal sponsors, to deliver cost-effective and ecologically sound solutions to reduce risk from coastal storm surge to communities, businesses, and industry in Orange, Jefferson, and Brazoria Counties.
