Port Arthur Project public open house slated Nov. 20

The United States Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, in partnership with the Jefferson County Drainage District 7 (DD7), will host a public open house on November 20, 2025, to share information about the next phase of the Port Arthur Project — the Port Arthur and Vicinity 04 (PAV04) contract.

District launches new online interactive tool to educate residents on Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay Coastal Storm Risk Management Program

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District launched a multi-media Story Map this week to better inform residents on the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay Coastal Storm Risk Management Program (S2G) and its three projects in the cities of Freeport (Brazoria County), Port Arthur (Jefferson County), and Orange (Orange County).

USACE Galveston District will be knocking on doors in Port Arthur, Freeport and Orange counties to secure-rights of-entry

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District, Real Estate Division will be going door-to-door in Port Arthur on Dec 1, in Freeport on Dec 8 and in Orange County on Dec 9, to secure rights-of-entry (ROE) from individual landowners in order to access property as part of the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay, Texas Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) and Ecosystem Restoration Project. The rights-of-entry are necessary to conduct various investigative activities (surveys, cultural resource investigations, geotechnical investigations). These investigative activities support the transition from conceptual designs to implementable project features and are necessary to continue to move conceptual designs forward to construction and these rights of entry are valid for up to 12 months.

USACE Galveston District awards $16.9 million project for levee reconstruction, raises and repairs on the Port Arthur Coastal Storm Risk Management System

GALVESTON, Texas– On March 30, the Galveston District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $16.9 million contract to Great Lakes Environmental and Infrastructure LLC of Rocklin, California, for repairs and raises to the Port Arthur Coastal Storm Risk Management System.

USACE Galveston District and Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7 sign project partnership agreement

GALVESTON, Texas (Dec. 2, 2019) –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District and the Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7 (DD7) are set to begin construction of the Port Arthur and Vicinity Coastal Storm Risk Management Project (CSRM). This construction project within the Southwestern Division's Storm Reconstruction and Risk Reduction Program, will increase protection and provide resiliency to the existing hurricane protection system. The first of five planned Construction projects for the area, is expected to begin April 2020.
