  • USACE, Corpus Christi celebrate completion of ship channel improvement project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District (SWG) and the Port of Corpus Christi Authority celebrated the completion of their Corpus Christi Ship Channel Improvement Project (CCSCIP) with a ribbon cutting ceremony, June 2, 2025. The project, which began in 2019, improved approximately 36 miles of channel, deepening it from 47 to 54 feet and widening it from 400 to 530 feet.
  • USACE Awards $404M Design-Build Contract for Port Arthur Project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District (SWG) awarded a $403,944,000 contract to Kiewit U.S. Contractors Co., April 9, 2025, to construct additional portions of the Port Arthur Project, a component of the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay (S2G) Coastal Storm Risk Management Project.
  • Freeport and Vicinity Element Project Work Suspended

  • USACE, TRA to unveil Port of Liberty Master Plan

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District (SWG) and the Trinity River Authority (TRA) will unveil the Port of Liberty Master Plan at a town hall meeting on March 19, 2025. The town hall, open to the public, will be held at the A.J. Hartel Building, located at 318 San Jacinto Street, Liberty, Texas, beginning at 4 p.m. No reservation is needed to attend.
