USACE, Harris County complete White Oak Bayou project in northeast Houston

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District and the Harris County Flood Control District joined elected officials and community partners Thursday to celebrate the completion of the White Oak Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project, a long-term effort to reduce flood risk and strengthen national resilience in one of the most urbanized watersheds in Harris County.

Army Corps of Engineers awards $71.9 million contract to rehabilitate Addicks and Barker Dams

GALVESTON, Texas (Aug. 31, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, awarded a contract in the amount of $71,902,340 to Granite Construction Company for construction of new outlet structures at the Addicks and Barker Dams in west Houston.

PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATE: Officials monitor Addicks and Barker dams and reservoirs

HOUSTON (May 29, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District and its partners, Harris County Flood Control District, Harris County Precinct 3, Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, the City of Houston and the Texas Department of Transportation, continue to monitor roads located near the Addicks and Barker dams to determine if temporary road closures will be enforced due to inclement weather.

Army Corps of Engineers monitors Addicks and Barker dams and reservoirs
