Joint Public Notice: Draft Site Management and Monitoring Plan for Corpus Christi Maintenance and New Work Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site - Nueces County

Published Oct. 10, 2017
Expiration date: 11/6/2017

Joint Public Notice          Site Management and Monitoring Plan

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Region 6 and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District have jointly reviewed and revised the Site Management and Monitoring Plan (SMMP) for the Corpus Christi Maintenance Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) and developed the first SMMP for the Corpus Christi New Work ODMDS (formerly Homeport Project ODMDS).

A SMMP was first developed for the Corpus Christi Maintenance ODMDS in September 1996 and revised in December 2008.  A SMMP was never developed for the Home Port Project (now Corpus Christi New Work) ODMDS because the project never materialized and the ODMDS was never used. This plan combines the revision of the Corpus Christi Maintenance ODMDS SMMP with the newly developed Corpus Christi New Work ODMDS SMMP into a single document which supersedes the Corpus Christi Maintenance ODMDS SMMP.

The proposed revisions are intended to make the decision process for site management and dredged material monitoring requirements more transparent and understandable.
