PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The applicant proposes to install approximately 100 linear feet (55 feet parallel to shoreline and return walls) of bulkhead out to the original property line from the existing shoreline and discharge approximately 97 cubic yards of backfill (refer to sheet 9 for fill volume calculation) to recover property loss from erosion.  The proposed backfill will be a mixture of sand and clay material and the applicant also is requesting to place rip rap at the base of the bulkhead for erosion control and bulkhead protection.

The proposed bulkhead will be constructed using 6-inch top piling on 5-foot centers, 3-inch by 8-inch walers will be placed on top and the bottom of exposed pilings and dead man piling will be installed approximately 10 feet behind the bulkhead support piling and connected with ¾-inch tie rods.  Additionally, the applicant is requesting to install a 10-foot by 55-foot dock and fish cleaning table for recreational use.  The dock will have 10-foot wooden deck extending 55 feet along the edge of the proposed bulkhead.  The deck boards of the proposed dock will be 3 feet above the mean high water mark.
