Full Public Notice          Project Plans

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The applicant is requesting to construct a new 1,000-foot-long by 62-foot-wide wharf (Berth 6) with driven concrete support piling and mechanically drill and/or hydraulically dredge an additional 4.70 acres from the Sabine-Neches Canal.  The applicant proposed to utilize existing and previously authorized dredge material placement areas (DMPAs).

Previous Authorized Permit

•             Discharge of fill material into 3.26 acres of open water and 0.08 acres of wetlands

•             Construction of a new 570-linear-foot culvert extension with approximately 124 linear feet of 7-foot by 8-foot reinforced concrete box culverts and outfalls

•             Construction of a new 660-foot-long by 63-foot-wide wharf (Berth 5) with driven concrete support pilings

•             Installation of one new breasting dolphin and one new mooring dolphin

•             Construction of 1,798-linear-foot of bulkhead (starting at the end of the existing wharf and ending near the State Highway 82 bridge)

•             Mechanically and/or hydraulically dredge18.67 acres of the Sabine-Neches Canal to a depth of -48 feet mean low tide to support Berth 5 and other new work

•             Mechanically and/or hydraulically dredge 14.51 acres of the Sabine-Neches Canal to a depth of -48 feet mean low tide for maintenance of existing structures.

Previously Authorized by Not Yet Constructed

•             Construction of 1,248-linear-foot of bulkhead (starting at the end of the Berth 5 and ending near the State Highway 82 bridge)

•             Mechanically and/or hydraulically dredge 3.17 acres of the Sabine-Neches Canal to a depth of -48 feet mean low tide to support Berth 5 and other new work

Modification to Previous Authorized Permit

•             Construct a new 1,000-foot-long by 62-foot-wide wharf (Berth 6) with driven concrete support piling

•             Mechanically drill and/or hydraulically dredge an additional 4.70 acres from the Sabine-Neches Canal to support Berth 6
