Full Public Notice    Project Plans

The applicant proposes to amend his existing permit to increase the authorized dredged depths for a dock slip from -40 feet MLT + 2 feet over depth to -45 feet MLT + 2 feet over depth.  Dredging operations would occur in the originally authorized project boundaries.  Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of existing material would be hydraulically dredged and placed into an authorized dredged material placement areas (DMPAs).  The existing permit authorizes dredging by hydraulic and mechanical methods with mechanical redistribution of existing accumulated sediments from an area that is 9,000 square feet that extends from the Port of Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) bulkhead line to 10 feet north of the PCCA bulkhead line.  The sediment would be relocated to deeper areas within the applicant’s slip area, but outside of the Federal Channel limits.  Mechanical redistribution methods include mechanical excavator, clam shell, dragline, water injection, water lift, underwater grading, and/or blade-and-drag beam leveling.  Dredged material would be placed into: South Shore DMPA – Cell A, Cell B, or Cell C; DMPA No. 1; Rincon DMPA; and Tule Lake DMPA No. 6.  A 10-year maintenance dredging program was also approved in the original authorization.
