Full Public Notice    Project Plans

The applicant proposes to further develop Sunoco’s Nederland Facility.  This proposed development will consist of demolition of the existing bulkhead and marine structures, mechanical and hydraulic dredging of approximately 55,000 cubic yards of material consisting of virgin bank and existing bottom, construction of 900 linear feet of sheetpile bulkhead, 11 new monopole breasting dolphins, a new access road and parking area, foundations for on-shore equipment and re-location of two existing drainage outfalls.

This project will reconfigure 725 linear feet of existing shoreline along the Neches River, place 7,500 cubic yards of clean fill into 0.23 acre of open water in manmade canals and excavate 2.38 acres of existing river bottom to a depth of 15 feet below mean low tide.  The dredged material will be placed in one or more authorized placement areas including Placement Areas 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, or an approved beneficial use site
