Full Public Notice    Proposed General Permit

The GP authorizes structures; work authorized by this GP shall be limited to pilesupported, single-family, multi-family, and single piers used at lodging facilities.  Authorized structures associated with piers shall include boat mooring facilities, hoists and normal appurtenances such as, stairways, fish-cleaning tables, and walkways.

The purpose of this re-issuance is to clarify general conditions associated with the size and orientation of structures authorized by this GP.  The intent is not to change the impacts authorized by the GP, but to provide the regulated public clear and predictable conditions for projects that may be authorized.  General conditions proposed for modification are highlighted in red in the attached document.  The previous issuance of this GP may be found at http://1.usa.gov/1sYj0Ra.  The GP is administered by the Texas General Land Office when the project site is located on state-owned submerged lands.  For all other locations, the Galveston District will administer the GP.

A preliminary review of this GP indicates that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is not required.  Since permit assessment is a continuing process, this preliminary determination of EIS requirement will be changed if data or information brought forth in the coordination process is of a significant nature.
