Full Public Notice          Project Plans          Mitigation Plan

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The applicant proposes to construct a bulk products loading and unloading facility on the Houston Ship Channel.  The applicant is proposing to dredge a 72-acre area to a depth of -45 feet mean low tide with a 2-foot-overdredge.  The dredging would displace approximately 5,337,475 cubic yards of dredged material, which the applicant is proposing to place in the Pinto Lion Dredged Material Placement Area.  The newly established shoreline would be stabilized with a sheet pile bulkhead.  Four 100- by 100-foot concrete ship docks would extend from the shoreline.  The applicant would also install a series of mooring and breasting dolphins.  The proposed dredging would convert 3.904 acres of tidally influenced wetlands to open water.  The applicant is proposing to mitigate for the unavoidable impacts to wetlands by purchasing credits from a mitigation bank.
