Full Public Notice     Project Plans    Mitigation Plans

The applicant proposes to abandon and remove sections of the MECOM Lateral 16-inch pipeline.  Portions of the pipeline that are not beneath the GIWW (those in wetlands) would be removed.  The applicant is proposing to restore the pipeline removal area to preconstruction contours.  The portion of the pipeline that intersects the GIWW would be abandoned.  The applicant is requesting permission to discharge 1,250 cubic yards of fill material into 1.28 acres of wetlands to construct a 3,257-foot-long road access road and fences.  The applicant has stated that the access road would be used for the pipeline removal and abandonment project, as well as for permanent access to a pipeline valve station.  The applicant has stated that road access to the valve location is needed for safety purposes.
