The Jadwin Building, Galveston District Headquarters

Jadwin 

The Jadwin Building, located on the east end of Galveston Island, Texas, serves as the headquarters for the USACE Galveston District. Named after Lt. Gen. Edgar Jadwin, a former chief of engineers, the building houses offices for most of the district employees. Area offices are located in Brownsville, Corpus Christi and Port Arthur, with project offices in Houston, Matagorda, Brazoria and Wallisville, Texas.

  • I45 South to Galveston
  • I45 Becomes Broadway Boulevard
  • Continue on Broadway until it ends, merging into Seawall Boulevard
  • Turn Left on Ferry Road at the second light
  • Right on Fort Point Road

Security Office

Mission: The primary areas of the Galveston District Security and Law Enforcement Program include physical security, personnel security, communications security, operations security and information systems security.

Visitor Access: All visitors must have a point of contact at the Galveston District prior to gaining access. The POC will be notified and verify that the visit is scheduled.

Non-Duty Hours. The Main Entrance Gate is closed at 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays. Visitors must notify the guards using the Intercom System (push button) at the entrance gate, provide proper identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.) and register with the guards.

Normal Duty Hours. This access is from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during weekdays. All visitors must show the proper identification (driver’s license, passport) at the entrance gate and register with the guards. 

Foreign Visitors. All non-U.S. visitors must receive prior approval to access the USACE Galveston District facilities. Specific requirements will be coordinated on an individual basis with the district POC. This coordination may take several weeks before possible access is granted.
