Dr. Rev. Thich Hang Dat, AAPI Heritage Month speaker tells the audience about his life, beginning in Vietnam then fleeing communist oppression to the U.S., earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Penn State University and a master’s degree and doctorate in religious studies at the University of the West in California. He currently teaches Buddhism, Buddhist meditation, mindfulness practice, and Asian religions at Indiana University Southeast, Indiana University South Bend, Indiana University Kokomo, and the University of Houston.
