  • Corps of Engineers to provide Addicks and Barker Dam Safety Program update

    HOUSTON (Oct. 20, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District will hold a public meeting Oct. 29, 2014, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bear Creek Community Center, 16001 Clay Road, Houston, TX 77084, to update area residents and business owners about the Addicks and Barker Dam Safety Program and the 2015 Addicks and Barker construction plans.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 19, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $2,111,235, to Affolter Contracting Company Inc., for containment dike raising at the Peggy Lake Dredged Material Placement Area in Harris County, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 10, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $3,583,500 to Orion Marine Construction Inc., for the maintenance dredging of the Texas City Channel in Galveston County, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 4, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $5,523,585 to Orion Marine Construction Inc., for the maintenance dredging of the Channel to Harlingen and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) in Willacy and Cameron counties, Texas.
