The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District (SWG) hosted it’s Summer 2023 Industry Day at Moody Gardens, Aug. 22, 2023.

The forum began with opening statements from USACE Galveston District Commander, Col. Rhett Blackmon.
“This is about an opportunity to communicate with each other. It’s an opportunity for the Corps to communicate to Industry,” Blackmon said. “It’s an opportunity for communications to occur between some of our non-federal sponsors, local levy districts, ports, etc., to communicate with industry and to communicate with us, and it’s an opportunity for industry to communicate with industry.”
The Industry Day featured several breakout sessions where industry representatives could speak one on one with USACE and other government representatives to increase understanding of contracting requirements.
USACE representatives also provided program updates for Coastal Texas projects.
