PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The applicant proposes to dredge approximately 55,000 cubic yards of primarily sandy material from jurisdictional waters and wetlands, to a depth of 6 feet, to create a canal system connected to West Galveston Bay.  Additionally, approximately 5,020 cubic yards of fill material will be discharged into tidal and non-tidal wetlands to create lots and infrastructure.  Approximately 11.78 acres of jurisdictional waters would be impacted; specifically 9.1 acres of non-tidal wetlands, 2.14 acres of tidal wetlands, 0.16 acre of sand flats, and 0.43 acre of tidal bottom.  The dredged material from jurisdictional areas will be used to build up the site.  The applicant proposes to construct a mixed use canal residential development on a 98-acre tract.  The proposed development will consist of water-front residential homes, access roads, and two circulation channels.
