 Small business mission
To sustain the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a premier organization in developing small businesses and maximizing their opportunities to participate in our procurements, thereby ensuring a broad base of capable suppliers to support the Corps of Engineers mission and strengthen our nation’s economic development.

Small Business Office

USACE Galveston District supports the government’s policy of placing a fair proportion of district contracts with qualified small, small disadvantaged, women-owned, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran owned and historically Black College and Universities/minority institutions. We consider small business to be the heart of the U.S. economy and a very vital part of the Corps’ procurement process.

Contract Opportunity

Getting Started

If you are interested in doing business with the Galveston District, or responding to a contract solicitation from us, the first thing you need to have is our Department of Defense Activity Address Code, commonly called the DODAAC: W912HY.

Once you have our DODAAC, the best place to start the process is the Procurement Technical Assistance Center or PTAC. The primary function of the PTAC is to help you wade through all the red tape of registration and figure out how to find opportunities that suit what your small business has to offer. PTAC will give you the one-on-one attention you need to be successful -- and best of all, the service is free!

NOTICE: On April 4, 2022, the unique entity identifier generated by SAM.gov and used across the federal government changed from the DUNS Number to the Unique Entity ID.

  • The Unique Entity ID is a 12-character alphanumeric ID assigned to an entity by SAM.gov.
  • As part of this transition, the DUNS Number has been removed from SAM.gov.
  • Entity registration, searching, and data entry in SAM.gov now require use of the new Unique Entity ID.
  • Existing registered entities can find their Unique Entity ID by following the steps here.
  • New entities can get their Unique Entity ID at SAM.gov and, if required, complete an entity registration.

For more information about this transition, visit SAM.gov or the Federal Service Desk, FSD.gov. You can search for help at FSD any time or request help from an FSD agent Monday–Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.
