    District launches online Addicks and Barker construction story map

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 29, 2014) – Residents will soon be able to track construction schedules, detours and upcoming events related to the Addicks and Barker dams’ safety modification project thanks to story map technology located online at www.swg.usace.army.mil (Dam Safety).

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 19, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $2,111,235, to Affolter Contracting Company Inc., for containment dike raising at the Peggy Lake Dredged Material Placement Area in Harris County, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Sept. 4, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $5,523,585 to Orion Marine Construction Inc., for the maintenance dredging of the Channel to Harlingen and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) in Willacy and Cameron counties, Texas.
