USACE Galveston and Harris County Flood Control District sign Reimbursement Agreements for Brays, Hunting and White Oak Bayou Projects

GALVESTON, Texas (January 4, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Galveston District has joined its federal partner, The Harris County Flood Control District (Flood Control District) in signing amendments to one Project Cooperation Agreement (PCA) and two Project Partnership Agreements (PPAs) for the design and construction of on-going federal flood risk reduction projects along Brays Bayou, Hunting Bayou and White Oak Bayou.

Corps Conducts Sediment Source Workshop with Partner Agencies

GALVESTON, Texas (December 6, 2018) –The US Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, partnered with the Bureau of Ocean and Energy Management (BOEM), Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf (GoM OCS) Region, Texas General Land Office (TGLO), and the Offshore Operators Committee (OOC), to conduct a GoM sediment resource-offshore infrastructure two-day partnering workshop on November 29 and 30, 2018. The intent was for synchronizing the needs of planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining coastal storm risk management projects, coastal ecosystem restoration projects, and offshore oil and gas infrastructure projects, across the GoM from the long term planning perspective.

General Land Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Release Coastal Texas Protection and Restoration Feasibility Study Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement

AUSTIN, Texas (October 26, 2018) – Today The Texas General Land Office (GLO) and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announce the release of the Coastal Texas Protection and Restoration Study Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement, a milestone in the effort to reduce the risk along the Texas coast from dangerous storm surges and other threats. Since 2015, GLO and USACE have worked cooperatively on a first-of-its-kind feasibility study formulating risk reduction solutions to address coastal storm risks to the vast and important Texas coastline. Fort Bend County partners with USACE to study Brazos River erosion

GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 18, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, and Fort Bend County have signed an agreement for a feasibility study that will investigate erosion flood risks along the Brazos River. The purpose of the Feasibility study is to ensure the protection of infrastructure, such as roads, levees and buildings from erosion.

Harris County Flood Control District signs Addicks and Barker resiliency study agreement

The Harris County Flood Control District signed an agreement today to partner with the Galveston District Corps of Engineers to begin a three-year comprehensive resiliency study. Resiliency engineers will evaluate and recommend projects and operational changes to improve the effectiveness of the Addicks and Barker reservoirs in reducing flood risks upstream and downstream of the structures.
