    Wallisville Lake Project accepting feral hog permit applications

    WALLISVILLE, Texas (September 4, 2019)- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, Wallisville Lake Project Office, Feral Hog Management Program is accepting annual feral hog applications from Sept. 1- 30 for the upcoming 2019-2020 hog hunting season.

    USACE Galveston District employee spotlight on Emily Drastata

    GALVESTON, Texas (September 3, 2019) –Just shy of three years working for the Corps, Emily Drastata considers herself the “environmental voice” for the Operations and Maintenance projects at the Galveston District. As a physical scientist at USACE Galveston District, Drastata and her teammate Lisa Finn, environmental project manager, coordinate with the project delivery teams (PDTs) to ensure that compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act and the Clean Water Act is achieved for all projects.

    Galveston Bay flood risk reduction studies deemed compatible by officals

    GALVESTON, Texas (August 23, 2019) - In a joint statement today, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, the General Land Office of the State of Texas and the Center for Severe Storm Prediction Education and Evacuation from Disasters, or SSPEED Center, at Rice University announced the compatibility of two widely-publicized concepts to enhance and protect Galveston Bay.

    Addicks and Barker Reservoirs launch Feral Hog Management Program and permit drawing

    HOUSTON (August 7, 2019)—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, Addicks Field Office is launching a Feral Hog Management Program and is accepting annual feral hog trapping applications from Sept. 1-31, for the upcoming 2019-2020 hog trapping season.

    USACE Galveston District to host Summer Stakeholder Partnering Forum

    GALVESTON, Texas (August 2, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District will host an External Project Review Board and Summer Stakeholder Partnering Forum (SPF), respectively, on Aug. 13-14, 2019, at the Texas A&M University, Galveston (TAMU-G) Campus, Aggie Special Events Center (Bldg 3035, Rm 203). The theme of the SPF is Leveraging Civil Works Opportunities to Drive the Dominance of America’s Energy Coast.

    USACE Galveston District awards $20.9 million dredging project with beach renourishment component

    GALVESTON, Texas (June 20, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a $20.9 million contract Tuesday to Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, LLC for maintenance dredging of the Galveston Entrance, Outer, and Inner Bar Channels and Houston Ship Channel Bolivar Roads to Redfish Reef, Texas.

    USACE Galveston District executes modification to dredge additional material in San Jacinto River

    GALVESTON, Texas (June 10, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District staff executed a modification to the West Fork San Jacinto River Emergency Debris Removal contract June 7, 2019, to dredge an additional 497,400 cubic yards of material that was deposited in the mouth of the San Jacinto River from Hurricane Harvey.
