    GALVESTON, Texas (June 20, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a $20.9 million contract Tuesday to Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, LLC for maintenance dredging of the Galveston Entrance, Outer, and Inner Bar Channels and Houston Ship Channel Bolivar Roads to Redfish Reef, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (June 10, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District staff executed a modification to the West Fork San Jacinto River Emergency Debris Removal contract June 7, 2019, to dredge an additional 497,400 cubic yards of material that was deposited in the mouth of the San Jacinto River from Hurricane Harvey.

  • Kingwood Marina developers request temporary permit suspension

    (May 1, 2019) After receiving 727 public comments, Kingwood Marina developer, Romerica Investments, LLC, asked Corps regulators on April 24, to temporarily suspend an Individual Permit Application (SWG-2016-00384). Romercia’s environmental consultants said in a letter to Corps regulators, they made the request based on the large volume of comments provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on March 28.
  • USACE Galveston District to Host Open House for the New Port Arthur Resident Office

    PORT ARTHUR, Texas (April 19, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, is hosting an open house for the newly reconstructed resident office in Port Arthur on April 26, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Port Arthur Resident office, located at 201 Pleasure Pier Blvd, Pleasure Island, Port Arthur, Texas.
