Published June 14, 2021

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District has published a Draft Metropolitan Houston Regional Watershed Assessment (MHRWA) and will accept public comment from June 10 to July 10  on the study findings, which summarize existing flood risk management activities and recommends actions to coordinate and improve effectiveness of FRM across agencies in the region.

The Galveston District, in partnership with Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD), has initiated the MHRWA to  evaluate current flood risk management efforts within the study area and invited agency suggestions for a proactive regional strategy.

The Galveston District and HCFCD will  gather public feedback about needs and opportunities. All public comments received will be considered in the final assessment and subsequent agency coordination.
