GALVESTON, Texas -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, will host our annual Industry Days for small- and medium-sized businesses and government contractors March 22-23, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Titled “All Things Galveston,” this year’s Industry Days event will again be hosted virtually due to ongoing Federal COVID-19 restrictions.
The purpose of the two-day event is to present upcoming work, help small- and medium-sized businesses navigate through the contracting process, provide an opportunity for companies to network and meet potential vendors and subcontractors, and maximize interest in the Galveston District’s contracting requirements.
“We consider small- and medium-sized business to be the heart of the U.S. economy and a vital part of our District’s procurement process,” said Kay Riplinger-Baltz, USACE Galveston Small Business Programs chief. “Industry Days allow attendees to network and share lessons learned, success stories and contracting best practices. They also provide a venue to learn about potential future partnership opportunities with the Corps of Engineers.”
This year’s event includes a day of presentations for participants to find out about the various projects occurring across the Galveston District, followed by a full day of “tracks” where participants receive information from District staffs from the Operations and Maintenance Division, Engineering and Construction Division, and Contracting Division, and learn from architecture subject matter experts.
The training is geared for both beginners and more experienced individual and businesses interested in what the USACE Galveston District procures.
