GALVESTON, Texas -- The 30-day public comment period for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District's Wallisville Lake Project Water Control Manual (WCM) will begin August 5, 2024.
The USACE Galveston District is soliciting input from the public regarding the Wallisville Lake Project WCM to assist with the development of the manual and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process.
The proposed WCM would guide day-to-day decisions about gate operations to meet the project’s authorized purposes. The WCM would also ensure the structural and operational integrity of the structures. The proposed WCM would not change the current operations, purpose of the project, or increase or decrease storage allocations for flood risk management, water supply, or navigation.
