Published March 21, 2014

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a media teleconference March 24 at 3 p.m. (eastern standard time) to discuss its interim policy for Determining Eligibility Status of Flood Risk Management Projects for the Rehabilitation Program Pursuant to Public Law (P.L.) 84-99.

As a result of public feedback and interest, USACE initiated a comprehensive review of the Rehabilitation Program. The USACE will make changes to the Rehabilitation Program to better synchronize the Flood Risk Management and Levee Safety Program activities. One of the changes includes revising Rehabilitation Program eligibility criteria to promote broader flood risk management activities.

Professional Engineer Tammy Conforti, USACE Levee Safety Program manager, will provide an overview of the interim policy and respond to questions.

Contact Pete Pierce at the phone number or email above for the teleconference dial in information and a copy of the interim policy, which will be available March 24 at 8 a.m. (EDT) and embargoed until 3 p.m. (EDT).
