GIWW, Galveston Causeway underwater demolition and debris removal update

GALVESTON, Texas (Aug. 4, 2016) – Construction to remove underwater demolition and debris from the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) and Galveston Causeway that began earlier this week will cause a temporary closure of the waterway located at the intersection of the GIWW, the Galveston Causeway (Interstate 45) and the associated railroad trestle bridge.

USACE Galveston District awards $4.6 million contract for GIWW, Galveston Causeway underwater demolition and debris removal

GALVESTON, Texas (June 21, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $4,650,000 to RLB Contracting Inc., for underwater demolition and debris removal from the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) and Galveston Causeway.
