USACE Galveston District completes beach renourishment project at South Padre Island, Texas

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (Jan. 18, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, completed a beach renourishment project on South Padre Island using beach-quality sand harvested from a local dredging project.

USACE Galveston District awards task order contract for light detection and ranging survey data collection

GALVESTON, Texas (Jan. 18, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, awarded a task order contract in the amount of $267,807.37 to AECOM Technical Services for Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) survey data collection at 32 dredging placement areas at various locations along the Texas portion of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW).
