  • USACE Galveston District awards three task order contracts for geotechnical services at dredging placement area sites

    GALVESTON, Texas (Feb. 28, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, awarded the following three task order contracts in the combined amount of $300,666.78 to Quaternary Resource Investigations LLC to investigate soil conditions for future levee construction at dredged material placement sites along the Texas coast.
  • USACE Galveston District awards task order contract for mooring buoy installation and repair at GIWW

    GALVESTON, Texas (Feb. 26, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, awarded a task order contract in the amount of $70,047 to J.M. Davidson Inc., for mooring buoy installation and repair work at the Brazos River Floodgates along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) in Freeport, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Feb. 20, 2013) – Students from Pearland Independent School District are getting a much-needed technology boost thanks to a donation of 64 computers by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District.
  • Former USACE Engineer Sentenced to Federal Prison for Bribery

    GALVESTON, Texas - Christopher Castillo, 33, of Monte Alto, has been handed a federal prison sentence after having been convicted of one count of bribery, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today. Castillo entered a plea of guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge John Froeschner on Aug. 22, 2012, which was later accepted by U.S. District Judge Gregg Costa.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Feb. 12, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District earned two Communitas Awards for its community relations programs: Corps Cares: Connecting the Community with the Corps and April Pools Day.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Feb. 7, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District was selected as the 2013 Corporate Partner Excellence Award recipient by the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering, Prairie View A&M University.
