USACE Galveston District awards $13.2 million contract to dredge Galveston, Houston ship channels

GALVESTON, Texas (Aug. 30, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount of $13,287,950 to Seattle, Wash.-based Manson Construction Company to perform maintenance dredging within the Galveston inner and outer bar, entrance channel and a portion of the Houston Ship Channel. USACE Galveston District finishes maintenance on Brazos River Floodgates

GALVESTON, Texas (Aug. 22, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District is scheduled to reinstall the East Brazos River Floodgates Aug. 28-29 following a yearlong refurbishing process in which each of the 80-ton sector gates along with an additional 40 tons of organic material were removed for repair and cleaning to restore and enhance their structural integrity and operation.
