    GALVESTON, Texas (Feb. 26, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, awarded a task order contract in the amount of $70,047 to J.M. Davidson Inc., for mooring buoy installation and repair work at the Brazos River Floodgates along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) in Freeport, Texas.

  • Former USACE Engineer Sentenced to Federal Prison for Bribery

    GALVESTON, Texas - Christopher Castillo, 33, of Monte Alto, has been handed a federal prison sentence after having been convicted of one count of bribery, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today. Castillo entered a plea of guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge John Froeschner on Aug. 22, 2012, which was later accepted by U.S. District Judge Gregg Costa.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Feb. 1, 2013) – After 35 years of dedicated service to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fred Anthamatten, chief of the USACE Galveston District’s Regulatory Branch, will close his office door for the last time today, trading in the district’s regulatory program for retirement.
