    USACE Galveston District deputy commander promoted

    GALVESTON, Texas (June 3, 2013) – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District Deputy Commander Maj. Marty Maldonado was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel by Commander Col. Christopher W. Sallese June 3, 2013, at a ceremony hosted at the district’s headquarters building in Galveston, Texas.

    USACE Galveston District proposes changes to GIWW permit setback policy; seeks public input

    GALVESTON, Texas (May 30, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District is seeking public input on proposed changes to its permit setback policy along the Gulf Coast Intracoastal Waterway to specifically address the oversight of construction of structures and /or fill permits along the GIWW to increase safety and preserve the ability to maintain the waterway.

    GALVESTON, Texas (May 17, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, awarded a contract in the amount of $3,600,200 to Mike Hooks Inc., for maintenance dredging of the Freeport inside channel and turning basins in Brazoria County, Texas.

    GALVESTON, Texas (May 2, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District’s Sandra Arnold, APR+M, chief of the Public Affairs Office, and Deputy Public Affairs Chief Isidro Reyna, APR, were recognized with a first place USACE 2012 Locke L. Mouton Award for excellence in the category of Command Information. The award honors public affairs practitioners for superior achievement and promotes outstanding efforts in public affairs activities.
